From 1959 up to 1971 Höfner produced special guitars, which had been delivered to Selmer company in London. Selmer exported these models world wide, while the German dealers were not supplied with the guitars from Höfner.

The English probably didn't like order numbers, so the Selmer models got customary names and serial numbers. The same applies to German models not especially produced for Selmer.
